Jvc 48 Class Fhd (1080p) Led Tv Review
JVC LT-48C780: Is this Black Friday Television receiver bargain any good?
It's Black Friday, in case you hadn't noticed, and that means A LOT of Television set deals. But of course, not all deals are created equally. And while information technology'due south pretty hard to buy a really bad TV present, information technology's even so worth seeking out the very best sets to maximise your Tv and picture show experience.
The JVC LT-48C780 is being heavily pushed by Currys - and information technology is incredibly cheap. You can save £150, information technology'south down from £399 to £249.
It's a full Hd 1080p Television receiver with catch-upwardly TV, streaming apps, iPlayer, YouTube and Freeview Hard disk drive. Information technology seems to be a special Tv released especially for Black Friday but is it actually a deal or more than of a dud?
The short answer:
The JVC is very cheap but the spec is pretty average. If you lot can notice just a little more than money, you tin get a 4K rather than HD TV, and get a picture nosotros're confident will be much meliorate than this model here. Yes, information technology'southward a lot of screen for a very low price but we wouldn't bet on information technology offering the best performance.

JVC LT-48C780: everything you demand to know
The JVC C780 looks like a special TV released and featured particularly in the Currys Black Fri deals. And that'south no great surprise, as JVC hasn't been the most prominent proper name in the Boob tube market in recent years.
The last JVC TV reviews we published were back in 2010, and the sets featured so didn't tend to practice also well. It was mainly a three-star affair, with televisions tending to evangelize washed-out black levels, average detail and poor motion handling. And so we weren't overly enthusiastic about JVC TVs dorsum then. Will the new JVC TVs fare whatsoever better?
The JVC LT-48C780 is a full HD Television receiver. That'south one issue - 4K TVs are so affordable at present, it seems almost silly not to buy one (and quite hard not to buy one in some stores).
It offers three HDMI one.4 inputs (that'due south the older spec for HDMI, simply that's no swell event here). And a Scart connection for older devices, similar a VHS player.
You have 'catch-up and streaming', which translates to catch-up apps from BBC, ITV, Aqueduct four and Demand 5, plus YouTube, Netflix, BBC News, BBC Sport and more.
It has Freeview Hard disk with Freeview Play, and then you'll get all the standard Tv channels and presented in Freeview's latest interface, which allows you lot to skip forwards and back through the EPG.
Verdict:
So, the spec is OK for an Hd Television. And, yes, it is very cheap. And if you're not worried about the concluding word in picture quality and have a tight budget, we understand the temptation. But if you lot tin can stretch a picayune we think you tin get a lot more than.
